What are Extra Magic Hours?

Guests staying at the Disney World Resort hotels get to enjoy extended time in the theme parks. Each day, one park is scheduled to open early or close late beyond the normal operating hours. During these Extra Magic Hours, select attractions are operating for on-property guests to enjoy! Just keep in mind not every attraction will be open!

Are They Worth It?

So, are Extra Magic Hours worth it? The short answer is, it depends. Nothing is ever truly simple when it comes to Disney World crowds! It may seem logical to visit the park that has extended hours each day, right? However, Extra Magic Hours may attract larger than normal crowds to that particular park for the day.

We are early birds and tend to take advantage of the early morning extended hours. In my personal experience, there were only a couple of instances where that park had higher than average crowds for the day. In those cases, we just simply Park Hopped to a different location!

Before kids, my husband and I always took advantage of evening Extra Magic Hours. The wait times were never too long and we enjoyed strolling around the Park at night!

Overall, I am a fan of Extra Magic Hours! They are a really nice perk to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. However, I strongly suggest coming up with a plan of attack by putting together your own vacation itinerary. In other words, be sure couple the morning or evening Extra Magic Hour offerings with FastPass+ reservations during the day. That way, you experience as much as you can with as little of a wait as possible!

Extra Magic Hours extends the time you and your family have in the Disney World Theme Parks!
